The load index (LI) is a 2 or 3 digit number that corrolates to the maximum amount of weight the tire can carry. For example, a tire with a load index of 87 indicates that the tire can carry a maximim load of 1,201 lbs. In the case of our example the 87 identifies the tires ability to carry a maximum of 1,201 lbs. So 4 tires will carry a maximum of 4,804 lbs. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the recommended minimim Load Index. It is not recommended to install tires with a lower Load Index. By doing so, this could cause your tires to be overloaded thus potentially causing a blowout.

| Speed Rating | T |
Speed Ratings (SR) are based on laboratory tests and indicates the maximum speed the tire can achieve. These tests are based on limited time trials. Higher speed rating tires typically will yield better handling capabilities, but may often result in lower mileage. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the recommended minimum Speed Rating. It is not recommended to install a tire with a lower speed rating as it could affect the handling of your vehicle. It is important to note that speed ratings only apply to tires that have not been damaged, altered, under-inflated or overloaded. Additionally, most tire manufacturers maintain that a tire that has been cut or punctured no longer retains the tire manufacturer's original speed rating, even after being repaired because the tire manufacturer can't control the quality of the repair.

2005 prius. Was expecting a couple mpg more as advertised, but no difference from my snows or summer tires last year. Not as quiet as I was expecting, but certainly better than my snows. Traction is great, very confident driving in heavy rain.

I knew I got a set of good tires when I went to get them mounted. The guy there was impressed with the tires and when I told him how much I paid he was going to see if they would start carrying them. I’ve had them on for about 8,000 miles and they are great. Great ride, excellent in the rain and very quiet. Would recommend them.

The CS5 Grand Touring are a very good tire at a great price.
I put these tires on my 2005 Honda Odyssey 10,000 miles ago. They are sturdy with no side-to-side issues on highway curves. They are fine in the rain. I won't know about the snow until next winter. Wear seems to be normal or average. I am completely satisfied at the price I paid. I'm sure there are better tires, but I don't need anything better than these and the price was very good. My van has 270,000 miles on it. If it's still running when I need new tires, the CS5's will be in the running.

Very good tires, but not quite perfect
First, these are very good tires. I now have CS5 Ultras on my Subaru Legacy GT wagon, and these CS5 Grands on my Deville. As for the CS5 Grand Touring tires, I am pretty darn happy with them. However, at the freeway speed limit (70mph) they have a wobble like they're out of balance. I had the tire shop re-check the pressures, rotate, and re-balance them, as well as redoing the alignment to be sure (I have a 3yr rotate/balance/alignment deal, so no additional charge for redoing everything). I also had our mechanic check the suspension, and anything else related, and everything is good. However, that odd vibration is still there. In the city, they do well; very quiet, and track okay on my boat (Deville). Recently, I drove a long distance on the highway (about 1000 miles), and again, they did great. Though, I had to adjust my speed slightly (2 or 3 mph) to eliminate that wobble... annoying, but not a deal breaker. Toward the end of that trip, I hit a real nasty rain storm in Florida. I can honestly say that these tires have amazing grip in the wet. I was really impressed. Overall, they are solid tires. Between these CS5 Grand Touring tires, the CS5 Ultras on our Subaru, and the purchase experience, I would have no qualms with purchasing another set of Coopers from Tires-Easy in the future.

Have not put a lot of miles on these tires yet, so I cannot comment on wear. The tires are as quiet as any tires that I have had on this vehicle and are good in rain and snow. Seem to have very good grip on snow covered roads. Seem to run smoothly and I have no complaints at this point. Very happy with my purchase.

It is too early to comment on tire wear , only about 6000 miles, but if they are anything like CS4's it will be great. They ride smooth and QUIET and hold the road well. I am still a Cooper fan.

Last around 65k miles
I bought these as replacements for the oem tires on my Prius. The OEMs lasted 30k miles. These are a great tire, but you do get some rolling resistance increase over the OEMs. I figure based off of the price and longevity, the deceased MPG is acceptable. This is my second set of this tire (I drive A LOT). The first set lasted me around 65k, I could have probably gone to 70 but I wanted to replace them before rainy season. The deceased MPG over OEMs averaged to around a 4MPG decrease over the first set of this tire.

Extremely happy with the tires. Had them for several months of intense northern WI weather and they performed great. Great handling indicative of strong sidewall construction and deep tread pattern. No uneven wear anywhere. Definitely would buy these tires again. I've experimented with the cheaper 40K tires, but you can't get 15K out of them due to poor or perhaps cheap construction. At $80/tire delivered to my door, these Cooper CS5 are a super price. If you pay $80/tire and get three times the life versus a $45-$50/tire brand...you do the math.

They are great rain tires but not sure about winter yet
They are a great price and with the payment plan it makes it easy. I'm glad that my son found the web site. I lives on a fixed income so this is great for me and people on fixed income. They are great with rain but winter is just around the corner so that will tell the test.
